Cooking trends take over TikTok

By Layilah Drakes, staff writer

Do you have TikTok? Do you keep up with the new trends?

TikTok is the world’s leading destination for short-form mobile videos. You can find videos of people dancing, showing off new trends, lip-syncing to different songs, and doing many other fun activities.

One of the most popular trends on TikTok is the cooking hacks. People all over the world are obsessed with the viral cooking ideas because they open up new creative possibilities.

A couple of users who participate in this trend are @andyslife247 and @cookinginthemidwest. You can also search #cooking on TikTok or check out lists like “79 TikTok Recipe Riffs That Are Easy to Make and Actually Taste Good “

Many people at Saegertown have tried some of these viral recipes, including freshman Kaylee Reynolds. “I tried to make the fluffy egg, pancake art, boba tea and the fruit salad foods,” Reynolds said. “The boba tea and fruit salad foods didn’t work, and my fluffy egg blew up in the microwave!”

The cooking trends involve people posting videos about inspiring ways to cook basic foods and come up with new dinners to try.

Many people have tried to deep fry different foods such as pizza, chips, ice cream, cake, spaghetti, and others. Others have tried making homemade cakes in the microwave and new foods in the air fryer.

The question we are all asking is ‘Do these trends work?’

The answer is sometimes. Some of them do and some of them don’t. If you have tried a cooking trend, send photos and results pantherpressshs@gmail.com so we can share them with the world.
