Upcoming tests prepare students for the future
By Rosalynd Phillips, Staff Writer
High school is a time when students tend to think a lot about their future, so it’s important for one to see just how prepared they are for whichever future they want to pursue. Two upcoming tests for sophomores and juniors, the ASVAB and PSAT, will help them determine this.
The PSAT, also known as the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, is designed to help students see how academically prepared they are for college and future careers. It also shows them what to expect on the SAT, and provides an idea of how they will perform on it. All sophomores and many juniors will take the test Wednesday, Oct. 12 in rooms 107, 109, and 111. The primary 2022 test date is Wednesday, Oct. 12. Students will report to the cafeteria during periods 1-3.
All juniors will take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on Oct. 25. For students interested in joining the military, the ASVAB is important. It measures developed abilities in ten areas and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is given annually at the school. For more information on these tests, students can visit the College Board and ASVAB.com.
